![]() Can I presume that you don't know anything about the quality of the work done? ![]() In theory, yes, a console may be better than a spinet - usually is - but because "it looks like it's in excellent condition" is no guarantee that it really is in spite of what may have been done to it. No one can guarantee on the basis of what you say that the Chickering console would be a better buy than the Baldwin Acrosonic. If you are willing to spend up to $100.00 to have a technician look at each and every piano that you might consider buying - particularly recommended if it comes from a private sale - then you can probably be comfortable with such a purchase.
